May 29, 2018 1st International Roundtable on Market Transformation for Green Buildings
The 1st International Roundtable on Market Transformation for Green Buildings was organized jointly by USAID, United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and Environmental Design Solutions on May 29th, 2018. It reviewed barriers to green building and energy efficient building market development in India and identified possible pragmatic solutions to overcome these barriers.
This Roundtable centered on discussions on barriers to large-scale uptake of energy efficiency, green practices, new technologies, state of professional practices and policy frameworks, end-user engagement and awareness, global best practices and experiences to derive learning, and potential for collaborations and partnerships. The Roundtable brought together industry experts, engineers, architects, building owners, USAID specialists, and other green building experts to share knowledge and identify opportunities to promote green building strategies in India.
Ms. Apurva Chaturvedi (USAID Clean Energy Specialist), Julia Kennedy (USAID Director), Mr. Tanmay Tathagat (Director, EDS) and Ms. Mili Majumdar (Managing Director, USGBC) reiterated their commitment to identifying approaches for green building market transformation though a comprehensive and collaborative exercise during the roundtable.
