The USAID – MAITREE Strategy Meet was held on 10 August 2019 in New Delhi to discuss the strategy for scaling up EESL activities in building energy efficiency. Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Managing Director, Mr.  S P Garnaik, Executive Director and other senior program managers from EESL, Ms. Apurva Chaturvedi, Clean Energy Specialist, USAID and technical experts from EDS brainstormed about strategy to intelligently select high impact technologies, maximize technology deployment, and catalyse market development.

As an outcome of the Strategy Meeting, MAITREE team decided to concentrate on developing business opportunities with banking sector, Maharashtra State Government, and select industrial sectors or public sector agencies. Furthermore, EESL and MAITREE will work to develop the Super ESCO business models for increasing the scale and scope of services and technologies provided under the Building Energy Efficiency Program. MAITREE will also advise EESL in developing new business verticals in voluntary carbon credits trading and real time energy use monitoring.
